New Delhi, 8th November, 2014: Former President of the State of Israel, H.E Mr. Shimon Peres, paid today a visit to the President of the Indian National Congress Party, Mrs. Sonia Gandhi, at her residence in Delhi. Vice President of the Congress party, Mr. Rahul Gandhi was also present in the meeting.
 
Mr. Peres briefed his host on the current situation in their region, the threat of terrorism and the ways to confront it.
 
Peres went on stressing the importance of women empowerment and the changes it had made.

Peres praised the Indo-Israeli bilateral relations and shared his vision on the importance of Technology, Education and Science in order to achieve Peace and Prosperity.
 
He invited Mrs. Gandhi to visit the State of Israel. This was the second meeting between the two leaders.
